“This Helped” - A Poem Inspired by #IconicFishes
We are pleased to spotlight “This helped” by Lauren, inspired by one of our favourite #IconicFishes: Solenostomos snuffleupagus, the hairy ghost pipefish.
This newly described species was named after Sesame Street’s very own Mr. Snuffleupagus by scientists, Dave Harasti and Graham Short, members of the IUCN SSC Seahorse, Pipefish and Seadragon Specialist Group, one of the hosts behind our global arts movement.
Lauren’s poem reminds us that wonder can return in unexpected ways: sometimes through a tiny ocean creature with a wonderfully familiar name.
We truly love seeing creativity that celebrates our quirky fishes, and we hope this inspires you to take part in our arts movement!
