Spotlighting "A seahorse story" by Ammi and Adam, Malaysia
Spotlighting “A Seahorse Story” picture book illustrated by Ammi (Leong Yoke Mee), an art teacher, artist and illustrator based in Penang, Malaysia. The book is authored by Dr. Adam Lim, Director of Save Our Seahorses (SOS) Malaysia, who’s also a member of the IUCN SSC Seahorse, Pipefish & Seadragon Specialist Group.
As you flick through this picture book, you will discover the realities of increasing coastal activities and pollution in Malaysia, which threaten our delicate friends of the ocean. Follow along WeiWei the seahorse’s journey as he navigates the challenge of losing his home and learn more about the importance of protecting our iconic fishes.
It is a lovely example of what Inspired by Iconic Fishes is all about: using art and storytelling to spark curiosity, care, and action for our delicate but magical fishes.
